We seek a skilled genetic researcher with a passion for applied research and a specific interest in developing innovative molecular solutions in cattle biometrics. As a researcher you will be part of CRV’s global R&D team and contribute to the continuous development of CRV’s breeding programs through innovation.
As a (senior) researcher in the Global R&D team of CRV’s Global Genetics department, you work with a large team of scientists on continuous improvement of CRV’s global panel of agricultural solutions. You actively follow the scientific world in molecular biology and seek for opportunities for innovation and implementation for CRV. You are able to carry out research yourself, act as project manager for larger projects or act as part of a wider collaborative team. You play an important role in disseminating research findings internally and externally, working closely with our animal evaluation unit.
In this research position you will focus on new technologies, or adaptations to existing technologies in the breeding sector looking at topics such as sequencing, -omics and assay design, but also contribute to the wider teams’ projects on novel traits and methodological improvements.
Requirements and Profile
- PhD or Master’s degree in Genetics/Molecular Biology or related field (biology/bioinformatics).
- Relevant working experience preferably in Sequencing, Assay Design or related -omics.
- Programming skills in statistical languages like R, Python or Fortran
- Excellent team player, analytical and critical thinking, open-minded and strong communication skills to be able to work across different teams
- A project leader who is good in planning and organizing.
- Excellent in spoken and written English and preferably also in Dutch
- Strong drive for implementation of research findings into practice

Location
This role is office based at our Arnhem HQ with options of hybrid working.
