Researcher (English)

As a researcher in the Innovation Genetics team at CRV, you are the project leader of the innovation path from the initial idea up to the delivery of a ready to market product or internal implementation. In some cases even up to the product launch and aftercare. The main part of this job is characterized as the initiatior/project leader of (product)innovations/research projects, providing insight on worldwide trends in the field of genetics and disseminating knowledge within and outside of CRV.

In this job in particular you are working on hot topics like feed efficiency and methane emission, but you also keep an eye on possibilities of breeding for any other new and relevant traits or improving methodologies of data collection for existing traits. You are contributing to innovations in the breeding programs.

To do so, you carry out explorative research via literature research, desk research and via working together with research partners in the industry. You are able to translate innovations into practical applications for example for CRV’s breeding programs.

• Academic level of thinking and working with preferably a PhD in the field of Animal Breeding and Genetics.
• Strong analytical skills
• A project leader who is good in planning and organizing.
• Sound language skills in both written and spoken English and preferably also Dutch
• Strong communication and collaboration skills (to be able to explain innovations within CRV and outside of CRV and to be able to connect with research partners)
• You aim for high quality
• Someone who can work alone as well as in teams.
• Passion for the dairy industry and genetics
• Willingness to travel occasionally (to visit conferences and to work together with colleagues and partners in other countries
