Job description

As a Senior Researcher in CRV’s Global R&D team, you will contribute to the continuous development of CRV’s breeding programs through innovation. You will work with a large team of scientists on the improvement of CRV’s global portfolio of agricultural solutions. You actively follow scientific developments in molecular biology and bioinformatics, identify opportunities for innovation, and translate them into practical applications for CRV. You will carry out research independently, act as project manager for larger projects, or collaborate as part of a wider team. You also play an important role in disseminating research findings internally and externally, working closely with our Animal Evaluation Unit.

What will you do?

As a Senior Researcher in CRV’s Global Genetics department you will:

Conduct applied research in genetics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
Lead or participate in international projects focused on innovation in breeding programs.
Translate scientific developments into practical applications for CRV.
Share research findings internally and externally, working closely with colleagues across teams.
Focus on new technologies such as sequencing, -omics, and assay design, while also contributing to broader projects on novel traits and methodological improvements.

What do we ask of you?

This role is for you if you…

Hold a PhD or Master’s degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field (biology/bioinformatics).
Have relevant experience, preferably in sequencing, assay design, or related -omics.
Possess programming skills in R, Python, or Fortran.
Are a strong team player with analytical and critical thinking skills, open-mindedness, and clear communication.
Have experience as a project leader with strong planning and organizational skills.
Are fluent in English (Dutch is an advantage but not a prerequisite).
Have a strong drive to implement research findings into practice.
